MBT weekend at CVP

The weekend of the 22 July 2011, I worked at the Mountain Bike Trail race that we held. At the Caravan Park we had an outside kitchen, where we made food for people per order. The first day, Friday, we started cleaning and setting up the kitchen, then we started with the pancakes for welcoming. The day was relaxed, because the people set up their tents after a long day. We worked from 07.30am till 21.00pm, which we call AD(all day).

On Saturday, we came in at 05.00am and worked till 14.00pm. The morning was so cold but we survived. We got all the foods out into the kitchen and started making bacon for breakfast. Later on in the day it got busy, we had a rush for a few hours. That day I worked at the pass, that's were the chef says all the orders to the other chefs and gets the plates ready, but in our case it was take away boxes.

The kitchen was a big tent which was closed on the sides with tent net. Inside we had steel tables to work on and a flat top. Also we had two burners to use for cooking. We had a bucket were we change the water as soon as its dirty to wash the dishes in.

The experience was great, you learn when to do what and who does what. Also you learn how to communicate with the guests.
